This day tour to Mt Longonot departs daily at 0630hrs. Mt Longonot is a migratory route for game moving from Hell’s Gate National Park south towards Suswa and the Masai Mara. The slope of the mountain attracts many grazing animals and climbers will often see Zebras, Buffalos, Gazelles and the rare Mountain Reedbuck. Leopard tracks are often seen on the mountain pathways.
Trekking Mt Longonot (2,776m) is an enjoyable way to spend a day. The views from the top across to Naivasha and the Aberdare Ranges are sensational while the views of the crater within the mountain even more breathtaking. Once at the top, a further two to three hours (depending on your pace) can be spent walking around the crater rim with excellent views the entire way.

The savannah ecosystem lies about 90km from Nairobi. The ecosystem mainly comprises of the mountain rising to 2,776m above sea level. On the sides of the mountain are V-shaped valleys and ridges with little vegetation; however a thick forest occurs within the crater. Major wildlife attractions include Buffalos, Elands, Bushbucks, common Zebras, Giraffes, Grant Gazelles, Thomson Gazelles among other wildlife. Other attractions include the extinct volcano and the crater forest, views of Lake Naivasha and the Great Rift Valley.
